I’ve been working on improving the lighting conditions inside S/V Ruby.
There were two of these on the fore bulkheads of the main salon. They were broken, dysfunctional, and outdated.

I’ve replaced them with a lovely alternative. This….

I pulled every dome light off the ceiling.

Malcolm Morgan helped me understand the wiring that had me more than confused. The new dome lights are superb warm white LED. The one over the navigation station also switches to red for night reading of charts. Maybe that’s a notion that’s a bit outdated!





I also converted two European-style outlets to ones that receive traditional plugs we’re used to here in America.


The faces they make have something to do with the ones I made as I used an oscillating saw to create rectangular holes in the boat!
