I do not yet have any experience producing splices in lines. There are several examples of splices on Skiron. A few are shown below. I’ve included a few links for those who may be interested in trying a few splices.
A loop splice crested around a pin where the main sheet attaches to the traveler. 
A splice at the end of a line taking the place of whipping. 
Another loop splice around a fixed object. 
An end splice and a common stopper knot on the outhaul. 
An end to end splice in the continuous main sail furling line. It’s a genius way to loop a line and make it continuous
